How to be Productive with Email

I used to be like you; my day was endless, scrolling through endless emails until I finally figured it out. It took me years to get this system right. But I finally got it right.

Soon after I became an executive at the company, I started getting hundreds of emails daily. I couldn’t get anything done because it took me an entire day to get through all the emails I was getting.

Let me get this straight I get emails from suppliers, banks, co-workers, process notifications, my team, and the random newsletter and salesman that get my email and are now trying to sell me something.

My primary inbox is now a four-inbox system. 4 main folders take care of everything, and behind the folders are my 4 or 5 simple rules:

Every newsletter I want to read goes directly into the “Newsletter” folder.

Every newsletter I want to read, which includes James Clear and Demand Curve, goes directly into the newsletter folder. This rule is simple if the sender consists of the domain of the sender of my newsletter, the emails go into the Newsletter folder.

Every other email containing the word Unsubscribe goes to the “Inbox — External Unsubscribe” folder.
